COLUMBUS, Oh. (Diya TV) — Former White House hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy has by no means ruled out the possibility of pursuing the office of Governor of Ohio. Speaking on Patrick Bet-David’s “PBD Podcast,” Ramaswamy said that many people have been pleading with him to run. “This is the number one thing people across the state will literally plead with me to do,” Ramaswamy said. Though he has not declared his candidacy, he said he is “more than seriously considering running for governor.”

Those comments set the speculation swirling about his political future, mainly because Ohio’s current governor, Mike DeWine, is not eligible to run for re-election in 2026, having completed two terms. “Is public service not supposed to be about serving the public?” he asked. And so would he consider that? “Yes,” he said during the interview.

His potential gubernatorial bid will come after his exit from the 2024 presidential race where he placed fourth in the Iowa caucuses. After suspending his campaign, Ramaswamy has gone on to keep up a public presence and support former President Donald Trump. When asked about his future, he stated that his priority would be to consult with Trump and his supporters before making any decisions.

Ramaswamy has also mentioned that aside from discussing a gubernatorial run, he is equally open to the possibility of running for an available U.S. Senate seat. In that case, if Senator J.D. Vance is selected as a vice-presidential candidate on the Republican ticket, Ramaswamy hinted that he could be a contender for the Senate seat left vacant by Vance.

These roles clearly outline Ramaswamy’s influence and involvement in the Republican Party, and an interest in issues in central Ohio – immigration and an economic package that would help what he called growing pains in the region.

He has already talked extensively about these subjects at town halls throughout the state; as for speculation, it remains open. When asked about next steps, Ramaswamy said, ‘I’m not definitively on any specific path right now, but I’m considering it.’
