NEW YORK (Diya TV) — Former President Donald Trump took to his Truth Social platform to announce he will not participate in another debate against Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris, even after Fox News extended an invitation for a potential rematch. “THERE WILL BE NO REMATCH!” he emphasized in all capital letters, indicating that there will be no further televised discussions.

This was just several hours after Fox proposed a debate on either October 24 or October 27. Trump has described the first debate held on September 10 as the one he won.

Harris has not closed the door on a potential second debate, as she has agreed to both Fox’s and CNN’s invitations. She will appear in a town hall on CNN in Pennsylvania on October 23 and pledged to do so directly with voters. Trump’s response appears to be the mark of confidence in his position in the polls, especially in the crucial swing states.

This refusal to have a second debate is sparking questions about former President Trump’s strategy as he moves closer to the elections. Some analysts believe this may be a strategy to avoid certain pitfalls in a direct confrontation. How both candidates decide to engage with each other and the public might have massive implications for their campaigns as the race intensifies.
