WASHINGTON (Diya TV) — President-elect Donald Trump has appointed Devin Nunes, CEO of Truth Social and retired California congressman, chairman of the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board. The board provides independent analyses of the U.S. intelligence community’s performance.
Nunes, who will continue to be in his current role at Trump Media & Technology Group, also served as chair of the House Intelligence Committee. He was among the first to criticize the FBI investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 election. In a posting on Truth Social, Trump quoted Nunes’ experience, stating, “Devin will draw on his experience as former Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee. to provide me with independent assessments of the effectiveness and propriety of the U.S. Intelligence Community’s activities.”
Aside from the appointment of Nunes, Trump also appointed Richard Grenell, the former acting director of national intelligence and ambassador to Germany, as presidential envoy for special missions. Grenell’s responsibilities include missions in countries such as Venezuela and North Korea.
Other appointees include IBM executive and retired Department of Homeland Security official Troy Edgar as Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security, and businessman Bill White as U.S. ambassador to Belgium.
