VIENTIANE, Laos (Diya TV) — Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Wednesday with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on the sidelines of the East Asia Summit here.
Modi gave his condolences for the victims of Hurricane Milton, who have claimed at least 14 lives in the United States.
Blinken emphasized the importance of cooperation in the U.S.-India partnership for resolution of security and economic challenges in the region. No other details were disclosed, but both nations engage regularly on a slate of activities.
During his two-day visit to Laos, Modi also attended the ASEAN-India Summit. The visit comes on the 10th anniversary of India’s “Act East” policy, which signifies increased engagement with Southeast Asian nations.
In Laos, during the visit, Modi received a welcome from the Indian diaspora members and watched a traditional performance of the Ramayana put on by Laotian artists.
